Be more like a tree

I wish I knew this when I was younger. Boy, things would have been easier!

How do you feel when your friends or family use you as a sounding board and barely take a breath to stop and ask you how you are doing?

Or when ‘friends’ freeload at your home by the sea under the guise of wanting to spend time with you lol.

Or those clients that drain you for free council and advise in social settings instead of honoring your worth and booking a consult.

Or the parent that seems to criticise every choice you make, veiled in the coat of love.

Or that friend you do so much for who just never appreciates you.

Or when your youngster comes home crying because school friends behave horridly towards them.

We all have many different scenario’s that make us feel less than or that rob us of joy.

But it does not have to be that way.

We have the power to choose how we behave and feel about any given situation. No matter how another behaves, or treats you, or appreciates you, or not…YOU have the choice to allow their behaviour to affect you and define you.

If you know who you are, know your worth, and your self worth is not defined by the appreciation, acceptance or validation from another, then you will not get angry, disappointed, heartbroken by their choices and behaviour. You will not allow external factors to dictate your happiness and worth. You will not get sick from pent up hurt, frustration and anger.

I have found it to be so. The more I make it an intent to have no vested interest in a specific outcome, no expectation on another, I can just allow them to be them and the situation to be what it is, without it affecting me. And I can be me.

And the more you are grounded in who you are, the healthier your personal boundaries will be.

More tree quotes

You don’t have to give every time. It’s okay for you to take some time for yourself, as well. In fact, if you want to have enough to give to others, you will need to take care of yourself first. A tree that refuses water and sunlight for itself can’t bear fruit for others. – Emily Maroutian

“A tree has roots in the soil yet reaches to the sky. It tells us that in order to aspire we need to be grounded and that no matter how high we go it is from our roots that we draw sustenance.” – Wangari Maathai

“Storms make trees take deeper roots.” – Dolly Parton

“Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.” – Bruce Lee.

“Be like a tree and let the dead leaves drop.” – Rumi

And lastly this beautiful bit of advice from a tree…

Dear Friend,
Stand Tall and Proud
Sink your roots deeply into the Earth
Reflect the light of a greater source
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons
For each yields its own abundance
The Energy and Birth of Spring
The Growth and Contentment of Summer
The Wisdom to let go of leaves in the Fall
The Rest and Quiet Renewal of Winter
Feel the wind and the sun
And delight in their presence
Look up at the moon that shines down upon you
And the mystery of the stars at night.
Seek nourishment from the good things in life
Simple pleasures
Earth, fresh air, light
Be content with your natural beauty
Drink plenty of water
Let your limbs sway and dance in the breezes
Be flexible
Remember your roots
Enjoy the view!

Need some help in creating the happy, healthy life you desire?
I’ll show you the steps I took to creating the life I desired – where
I am happy everyday, I have wonderful clients who appreciate
me, loving relationships, abundant energy and health. I only do
what feels good and life always goes my way.

Guard your thoughts…

Guard your thoughts because everything you do flows from them.

Our emotions are created from our neurotransmitters which are mainly in our gut. Therefore, what you eat, the state of your gut health will have an impact on your emotions, which create thoughts. The everyday stressors you perceive in your life also will affect your emotions and thoughts. So, will your core beliefs.

And so, your thoughts and emotions are not always originating from your true higher self. You are always connected to source (God, Gaia, Muhammed, whatever name you choose). Even when you forget this.

Practices of stillness, meditation, conscious focussed breathing, gratitude/appreciation exercises like daily journaling of all your blessings, prayer, walks in the forest or on the beach (nature) will be opportunities for you to connect to Source. From this place you can trust the feelings and thoughts that come.

Use your emotions to feel your way back to Wellbeing.

Esther Hicks.

We are all vibrational, energy beings. Whatever you give your attention to causes a vibration. Then by law of attraction that will come to you.

This may seem like a strange concept to you, but I know this to be true. You get what you think about whether you like or not. When you are worrying you are planning when you are dreaming you are planning. Try it.

May you be Happy, may you be Healthy, may you be Well

Together, we will change the world

2021 brings us essential energy to help us build an equitable, sustainable, and peaceful world. We can’t just imagine and wish for a better world. We must do the inner and outer work of dismantling old structures, destroying outdated beliefs, and demolish the institutions and systems that no longer reflect our evolved understanding of the inherent value and beauty of all life on the planet.
We are learning to clear the inner effects of our conditioning that have clouded our vision. We are releasing old beliefs and seeing the truth behind the stories and myths we have embraced our entire lives, as a part of our old identities and as aspects of our cultural mythology. We are remembering our personal value, and this memory of the preciousness of who we truly are is helping us see the value in all people and, as such, the importance of all life.
We are consciously and deliberately crafting a new personal and collective narrative. This new narrative inspires us and calls us forth from the void we’ve been drifting in. We cannot afford to descend into the luxury of victimhood, blame, old patterns, or responses. This is powerful, transformative energy inviting us to find gratitude in the moment, to receive the lessons we’ve been given with grace, and to keep move forward
We were born for this work.
We were born for this time.
We are transforming our economy and reconciling our relationship with power and money. With a brand-new metric of value, we no longer measure value on the material plane, but instead, the currency of our new economy is discovering how we can amplify our well-being and use it to increase the quality of life and well-being for others.
We can no longer afford to see ourselves as separate from others. We are building a global and eco-centric economy. To take the first vital steps laying the foundation of a more equitable and sustainable world, we have to humbly admit that we are intricately and inextricably entangled with each other.
This year we begin to build a world filled with collaborative and co-creative possibility. Everything begins with self-responsibility. From a place of wholeness, we can enter into agreements without hidden agendas or the need to prove our value.
We must approach this year with the question: How can I best serve the world?
Once we reclaim our value and gifts that only we can give the world, we can see our irreplaceable role in the cosmic plan, and we can then commit to serving the world at our highest level because this place of service is also the place where we experience the deepest joy. This is the natural response to doing the inner work.
We are playing a long game. We must be patient and continue to keep the long-term vision in mind. We must remember to place our hands on each other’s backs and ride the wave forward together. We will all win when we ALL win.
It will take tremendous courage this year to look at the dismantling and trust that, once we take things apart, there will be something better to build in its place. We must be willing to collaborate, explore, and experiment. We will be taking giant leaps of faith.
Our blessings this year will be amplified when we are willing to transform our old stories into a narrative that is truly worthy of who we are. We must trust our own intuitive awareness and be willing to do what feels right even if our logical, conditioned minds are fighting against what we once knew as “correct and aligned.”
Faith stabilizes everything. Faith gives us the power to face potential emotional volatility and to trust that we can slice through the intensity bringing harmony to situations that feel unstable while we keep the “big picture” in mind. We must endure, even if we are in unfamiliar territory, questioning our definition of momentum and progress. Always trust that there is a bigger story unfolding.
We are on the cusp of a Creative Revolution that will, in time, be compared to the Scientific Revolution. We are on the edge of building the world we’ve been dreaming of since we were children. Innocence and joy are our key elements of creative power. It is from the playfulness of possibility thinking that the leading edge of a revolution and our evolution in consciousness will be advanced forward. We must act from the place of playfulness, believing—knowing—that evolution in consciousness will advance all of humanity forward.

2021 is the year we must do the inner work of clearing our old karma in order to be better able to translate Truth into action on the planet. Together, we will change the world, one shift in consciousness at a time. Once we make these vital shifts, the next right action steps will be revealed.
As always, take care of yourselves. Be generous to yourself and fill your own cup so that you have more to share. Trust in abundance and “enough-ness” and keep doing the right thing, even if you’re—especially if you’re—quaking in your boots.

Your body is The Messenger

Featured

In 2003 my entire life changed when a book found its way to me. It changed my life, literally. ‘You can heal your life’ by Louise Hay is still a book I turn to today for guidance and inspiration. I have gifted it to many clients and friends. If you have not read it, do yourself a favour and get a copy.

Because of this book I pursued Kinesiology 16 years ago. It is the one modality that powerfully combines Mind Body balance by connecting with the body as the messenger. The universe has a way of sending you what you need right on time when you need it.

I was at the time living in Johannesburg, a national sales manager for a few online and print brands with a staff compliment of around 15. I was financially responsible for a parent and dealing with quite a bit of stress and unresolved trauma from my upbringing.

During this same time, while vacationing in Knysna, I was also led to a kinesiologist called Jaqi Lee who was practising kinesiology in Knysna and I was blown away with the two sessions I experienced with her. I was suffering from debilitating back and neck pain and she was able to tune into my body and release stress around relationship issues between me and my mother. Needless to say, the pain went away. 😊
Below is just a small insert from Louis’s book “Heal your body”. May this information help you. Maybe you can relate to some of the information.

“I’ve learned that there are really just two mental patterns that contribute to dis-ease: fear and anger. Anger can show up as impatience, irritation, frustration, criticism, resentment, jealousy, or bitterness. These are all thoughts that poison the body. When we release this burden, all the organs in our body begin to function properly. Fear could be tension, anxiety, nervousness, worry, doubt, insecurity, feeling not good enough, or unworthiness. Do you relate to any of this stuff? We must learn to substitute faith for fear if we are to heal.
Faith in what? Faith in life. I believe that we live in a “Yes” Universe. No matter what we choose to believe or think, the Universe always says yes to us. If we think poverty, the Universe says yes to that. If we think prosperity, the Universe says yes to that. So, we want to think and believe that we have the right to be healthy, that health is natural to us. The Universe will support and say yes to this belief. Be a “Yes person and know that you live in a “Yes” world, being responded to by a “Yes” Universe.
If you find yourself battling with some imbalance, ask yourself: Is it one of the forms of fear, or is it one of the forms of anger? Are you willing to release those thoughts? Are you willing to replace those thoughts with positive affirmations?* Loving yourself will also contribute greatly to healing your body, for love heals.
So how do you love yourself? First, and most important: Cease all criticism of yourself and others. Accept yourself as you are. Praise yourself as much as you can. Criticism breaks down the inner spirit; praise builds it up. Look into a mirror often, and simply say: I LOVE YOU, I REALLY LOVE YOU. It may be difficult at first, but keep practicing, and soon you will mean and feel what you say. Love yourself as much as you can, and all of life will mirror this love back to you.” Louise Hay.

Shoulders: Represent our ability to carry our experiences in life joyously. We make life a burden by our attitude.

May you love yourself more and more each day.

Affirmations are powerful

affirmationThe foundations of a change process are:

  • Meditation
  • Affirmation
  • Creative change/creative visualisation/goal setting

Remember the sub conscious mind can’t differentiate between fact and fiction so….

Thought – create a picture of what you want/how you want to feel

Dream it

Be it

BE – DO – HAVE

How do we do that?

We think of what we want, then we do what we need to do to get it and we leave the being(ourselves) out of it…Its about action not over thinking.

Affirmations are a powerful confirmation of a manifestation. Be aware to use positive affirmations and you can also combine EFT (tapping) if you want.

Lastly remember…What we resist, persists!

Some sources of good affirmations to get you started:

What are you waiting for? Design the life you want

The awakening

A time comes in your life when you finally get it … When, in the midst of all your fears and insanity, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cried out … ENOUGH! Fighting and crying and blaming and struggling to hold on. Then, like a child quieting down after a tantrum, you blink back your tears and begin to look at the world through new eyes. This is your awakening.

You realize it’s time to stop hoping and waiting for something to change or for happiness, safety and security to magically appear over the next horizon. You realize that in the real world there aren’t always fairy tale endings, and that any guarantee of “happily ever after” must begin with you … And in the process a sense of serenity is born of acceptance.

You awaken to the fact that you are not perfect and that not everyone will always love, appreciate or approve of who or what you are … And that’s OK. They are entitled to their own views and opinions. You learn the importance of loving and championing yourself … And in the process a sense of newfound confidence is born of self approval.

You stop complaining and blaming other people for the things they did to you – or didn’t do for you – and you learn that the only thing you can really count on is the unexpected. You learn that people don’t always say what they mean or mean what they say and that not everyone will always be there for you and that everything isn’t always about you. So, you learn to stand on your own and to take care of yourself … and in the process a sense of safety and security is born of self-reliance.

You stop judging and pointing fingers and you begin to accept people as they are and to overlook their shortcomings and human frailties … And in the process a sense of peace and contentment is born of forgiveness. You learn to open up to new worlds and different points of view. You begin reassessing and redefining who you are and what you really stand for.

You learn the difference between wanting and needing and you begin to discard the doctrines and values you’ve outgrown, or should never have bought into to begin with. You learn that there is power and glory in creating and contributing, and you stop maneuvering through life merely as a “consumer” looking for your next fix.

You learn that principles such as honesty and integrity are not the outdated ideals of a bygone era, but the mortar that holds together the foundation upon which you must build a life. You learn that you don’t know everything, it’s not your job to save the world and that you can’t teach a pig to sing.

You learn that the only cross to bear is the one you choose to carry and that martyrs get burned at the stake. Then you learn about love. You learn to look at relationships as they really are and not as you would have them be. You learn that alone does not mean lonely. You stop trying to control people, situations and outcomes.

You learn to distinguish between guilt and responsibility and the importance of setting boundaries and learning to say NO. You also stop working so hard at putting your feelings aside, smoothing things over and ignoring your needs.

You learn that your body really is your temple. You begin to care for it and treat it with respect. You begin to eat a balanced diet, drink more water, and take more time to exercise. You learn that being tired fuels doubt, fear, and uncertainty and so you take more time to laugh and to play.

You learn that, for the most part, you get in life what you believe you deserve, and that much of life truly is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You learn that anything worth achieving is worth working for and that wishing for something to happen is different to working towards making it happen. More importantly, you learn that in order to achieve success you need direction, discipline and perseverance. You also learn that no one can do it all alone, and that it’s OK to risk asking for help.

You learn the only thing you must truly fear is fear itself. You learn to step right through your fears because you know that whatever happens you can handle it, and to give in to fear is to give away the right to live life on your own terms. You learn to fight for your life and not to squander it living under a cloud of impending doom.

You learn that life isn’t always fair, you don’t always get what you think you deserve and that sometimes bad things happen to unsuspecting, good people… And you learn to not always take it personally. You learn that nobody’s punishing you and everything isn’t always somebody’s fault. It’s just life happening.

You learn to admit when you are wrong and to build bridges instead of walls. You learn that negative feelings such as anger, envy and resentment must be understood and redirected or they will suffocate the life out of you and poison the universe that surrounds you.

You learn to be thankful, and to take comfort in many of the simple things we take for granted, things that millions of people upon the earth can only dream about: a full refrigerator, clean running water, a soft warm bed, a long hot shower.

Then, you begin to take responsibility for yourself, by yourself, and you make yourself a promise to never betray yourself and to never, ever settle for less that your heart’s desire. You make it a point to keep smiling, to keep trusting, and to stay open to every wonderful possibility.

Finally, with courage in your heart, you take a stand, you take a deep breath, and you begin to design the life you want to live as best as you can.
