Raise your vibes

Featured

Similar to radio waves that are heard clearly but remain unseen, your vibrational frequency emanates from your cumulative thoughts, emotions, and consciousness, and is continually being broadcast out into the universe.

The idea of the emotional frequency chart originated in the book “Power vs. Force” by David R. Hawkins, and was further popularized in a book by Abraham Hicks called “Ask and It Is Given.”

Emotional Frequency Chart

A high oscillating vibration like Love, attracts more high frequency, spiritually uplifting and positive experiences in your life. A low vibration like fear attracts just the opposite.

To determine your frequency, pay close attention to your feelings. When you hold positive thoughts in your heart and mind, you feel happy, inspired and content. When you hold negative thoughts, you feel grouchy, angry or sad. The better you feel, the higher your frequency.

You are the creator of your life. You have the power to change your frequency at any given moment.

Ways to raise your frequency vibes:

  • Practice regular acts of gratitude. Choose an activity that works for you like writing on pieces of paper and filling a gratitude jar or creating a Gratitude wall which you can see every day. The more grateful you are the more gifts you attract. That is how energy works.
  • Yip you’ve heard it before and I will repeat it again…meditation and conscious breathing is the key to raising your vibration.
  • Let go and forgive. By doing this you release low vibration emotions, thoughts and memories from your energy realm.
  • Eat high vibration foods.
  • See yourself as the magnet for higher vibrations. Be that which you want to attract. So if you want more positive people in your life, besides avoiding negative people, you need to practice being more positive.
  • Clean up. Go on a detox and clean up your inner environment and at the same time spring-clean your home and office. At the same time reevaluate the people in your life and consider letting go of the relationships and people that bring down your energy. If you cannot let them go completely then start limiting your time with them.
  • Disconnect from stimulus like internet, tv, cellphones, gaming. Get out in nature with bare feet and connect to mother earth. Visualise and connect to source.
  • Try some frequency medicine to help you raise your cells energy vibrations. These include various sound therapies, bioresonance therapy and rife therapy.

Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z, and Gen A and the health issues they face

Featured

Understanding each generation is particularly important to businesses and financial institutions wanting to capitalise on their spending habits. Here is a link from a financial company explaining quite well the different generations.

I am more interested on the impact on each generations wellness as that is my area of expertise. There is very little research pertaining to the health and wellness of each generation and what I could find various depending on the sources.

This information is purely based on what I have observed as a trend in my practice so I share as some food for thought:

Age 57-75: Over 80% of Boomers are taking between 2 and 5 chronic medications and have bought into a belief system that their bodies are failing them and medication or operations are needed in order to survive. They are less likely to try alternative health options. Most have had at least two organs removed. Providing for their old age is a priority concern. Hypertension, heart attacks, strokes, cholesterol, arthritis and insomnia are highest health issues here.

Age 41-56: Generation X’s are stuck taking care of parents and children so tend to suffer from burn out or chronic fatigue and are not tuned into their own needs so many identify with auto immune diseases especially involving thyroid and adrenals. Anxiety, depression, chronic inflammation and metabolic syndrome can also be an issue. Over half are on at least one chronic medication for depression, sleep or thyroid.

Age 25-40: Generation Y’s are disillusioned with the current health industry and instinctively feel that a more natural approach to their wellness makes more sense for them. They question the status quo and are more in tune with their gut feelings but are not always sure where to turn for assistance. They tend to be more health conscious but their generation is also influenced by experimentation with drugs so they can fluctuate between extreme health and apps to measure everything.. and addiction binges. They may have been subjected to many antibiotics and drugs for ADHD as children so also have compromised immune systems. Health issues include anxiety, mood, asthma, sinus and allergies. Fertility issues are also on the increase with this generation.

Age 9-24: Generation Z are growing up in a hyper connected world and have very short attention spans. They are more self propelled, aspiring to own their own businesses and following their purpose but often do not know what this is. They are more fluid in thoughts and beliefs and if their parents and environment does not try and understand this they can be more anxious and stressed and suffer with mental health issues. Physical fitness, healthy eating and mental health are more important to a much larger percent of these individuals and they use technology to help them manage this. They understand intuitively that they are energy beings. Fear and general exposure to toxins is an issue so many suffer with asthma, sinus, post nasal drip, sensitivities. Depending on the supporting environment, they could tend to compare themselves to everyone around them and come up lacking so self worth is an issue needing to be addressed.

I would love to hear what your views are on the various generations and their health issues so please share.

Are you the parent of an Indigo child?

Featured

If your child has an urge to create change in the world, is a free thinker and is often misunderstood, they could be an “Indigo” child. Does your child display extreme empathy, sensitivity, a high level of intuition and psychic ability, an innate spirituality, and a deep desire to help the world? If so, you could be the parent of an Indigo child.

What is an Indigo child? In the 1970s, parapsychologist and psychic Nancy Ann Tapp studied human auric fields and coined the term “Indigo children”. While just a few people possessed indigo auras back then, she saw an increase in the number of children born with indigo auras from 1978 to the late 1980s, leading her to assume that a new generation of spiritual leaders, dubbed Indigo children, was on the way.

Common traits of Indigo children:
• High expectations of themselves and others
• Find relationships and interactions with others more challenging than other children their age.
• Are unrelentingly self-critical
• Have a strong intuition
• Often question authority
• Are highly creative and often musically and artistically gifted
• Are unwilling to compromise just to fit in.
• Are headstrong
• Know their self-worth and unwilling to back down from confronting what feels out of integrity.
• Get frustrated easily and often lack patience
• Empaths
• Tend to portray hyperactive tendencies
• Most possess extremely high IQs and some even display paranormal abilities.
• Sensitive beings, so it’s no surprise that they suffer from despair and anxiety more often than other children.
• Tend to swim upstream
• More fluid in gender, tribal, cultural attitudes and beliefs

The health of Indigo children
• Because the are so tuned in and porous they often have gut issues like IBS
• Are prone to depression if they are not nurtured and understood and don’t understand themselves and taught self worth from small.
• More prone to allergies because they are more sensitive/porous
• More affected by EMF and geopathic stress so control their exposure to cellphones, laptops and gaming as it will affect their energy
• Its important to ensure they have a healthy diet with good fats and proteins and limited refined sugars and junk food as it will aggravate their hyperactive tendencies.
• Encourage them to practice mindfulness in the form of yoga, deep breathing and meditation to give them opportunities to switch off and tune in otherwise their health will suffer

How to best nurture an Indigo child
• Even if you don’t see eye-to-eye with your Indigo child, support them and allow them to be heard.
• Provide opportunity for them to relax and regroup.
• Teach them to shield themselves from negative energy. Because they are so sensitive they absorb other peoples energy and if they do not understand this it can make them feel low and confused.
• Teach them about self-care first. Because they care so about others and the planet, they can become too externally focused if they are not taught this principle early on, they deplete themselves while focusing on the welfare of others
• Do not lie to them they have built in bullS%&t detectors and they will become confused, withdrawn or aggressive.
• Educate yourself on how to nurture their special gifts so that they can reach their full potential and contribute to society. Watch the movie Superhuman: The invincible made visible.

Fungus, mold and yeast -effects on your health

Featured

If you have been following me for a while you will notice that it is my belief that all imbalance and disease is caused by 3 things namely stress, pathogens, and toxins. That is why I address all three in my Radical Transformation in 90 days Programme.

If you live in the Garden Route (or anywhere near water or high rain fall and humidity areas) you may be more susceptible to fungal and mold exposure.

Mold and fungus are two types of organisms that belong to the kingdom Fungi. The main difference between mold and fungus is that mold is a multicellular, filamentous fungi whereas fungus is a unicellular or multicellular organism with a chitin cell wall. Fungi include molds, mushrooms, and yeast.

Here is more information on the effects of on your body. So many of these symptoms get misdiagnosed.

They give off Mycotoxins, poisonous chemicals that help defend its territory from other microbes. Mycotoxins can be very harmful to you — even in low concentrations.

Mycotoxins are more harmful than pesticides.

Some scientists believe.

Some common mycotoxins and ways they may impact your health include:

Aflatoxins: These are produced by Aspergillus flavus and some penicillium species, among others. Aflatoxins are linked with an increased risk of liver cancer.

Ochratoxin A: These mycotoxins can suppress your immune system. They can also damage your nerves and impair brain function. Some of this could be due to the oxidative stress — also known as free radical damage — that it triggers.

Trichothecenes: These are produced by black mold (stachybotrys), as well as some other molds. They can interfere with your cells’ ability to make proteins your body needs. They can also impair your immunity, trigger oxidative stress, and damage nerves.

Mycotoxins can also harm your mitochondria, kidneys, and lungs.

Some factors that may affect your susceptibility include your toxin load in general, your health status, and length of exposure. Genetics can also make a difference.

Signs of toxicity

There’s no “clear-cut” list of signs and symptoms that specifically point to mold illness. You may not even recall or be aware you’ve been exposed to mold. But one possible clue is a sudden, unexplainable downturn in your health.

This can lead to a series of doctor visits. You may be given a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, or irritable bowel syndrome. But this is overlooking the root cause.

For example, in a study of people with CFS, about 90% had spent significant time in a water-damaged building. And, 93% of the people had at least one type of mycotoxin in their urine. In contrast, healthy people had no detectable urine mycotoxins.

The researchers theorized that mitochondrial damage from mold toxicity was causing fatigue in the CFS group. Aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, and trichothecenes all can cause mitochondrial damage. That can lead to reduced energy production.

Mold can also trigger inflammation. One study found that people working in damp buildings produced anywhere from 2 to 1,000 times more inflammatory messengers.

Brain scans of people with mold illness suggest inflammation can lead to structural brain changes and nervous system dysfunction. That may contribute to hypersensitivity to foods, chemicals, and other items that didn’t previously bother you. This is part of chronic inflammatory response syndrome, described next.

Chronic inflammatory response syndrome

An ongoing inflammatory response to mold or other biotoxins can lead to chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS). It’s also referred to as biotoxin illness. In this condition, inflammation affects multiple systems of your body.

Chronic exposure to a water-damaged building is the most common trigger of CIRS. Chronic Lyme disease is another cause. Some people have both. That’s a double whammy to your system.

The following signs and symptoms are often found in CIRS due to mold-induced toxicity:

Brain function: Brain fog, memory loss, trouble finding words, difficulty concentrating, problems taking in new information

Digestive system: Metallic taste in mouth, nausea, vomiting, bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, leaky gut, food sensitivities

Eyes: Blurred vision, eye irritation, itchy eyes, sensitivity to bright light

Energy: Excessive fatigue, thyroid dysfunction

Immune system: Poor immunity, autoimmune conditions, over-reactivity to foods and chemicals, flu-like symptoms

Mental state: Anxiety, depression, irritability, mood swings

Muscles and skeleton: Muscle pain, joint pain, morning stiffness

Nervous system: Headaches, “ice-pick-like” pain, static shocks, dizziness, poor balance and coordination, seizure-like events, tremors, numbness, tingling, skin sensitivity to light touch, temperature regulation problems

Respiratory system: Cough, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, chronic sinus congestion, new-onset or worsening asthma, shortness of breath, chest tightness

Scent sensitivity: Unpleasant symptoms upon exposure to fragrances, chemicals, and other odors (multiple chemical sensitivity)

Skin: Rashes, dryness, irritation

Sleep: Insomnia, frequent waking during sleep, night sweats

Urinary system: Increased urination, urgency, incontinence

Weight: Appetite swings, weight gain or weight-loss resistance

Many of these symptoms could also be due to reasons other than mold toxicity and CIRS. That’s why mold illness is often overlooked or misdiagnosed. The specific effects depend on your body’s unique vulnerabilities.

Signs and symptoms of mold illness include the following areas:

History of mold exposure: Do you recall spending significant time in a water-damaged building (regardless if you had symptoms at the time)? Or, did symptoms start when you moved into a different home/apartment or workplace?

Continual infections: Do you have recurrent infections, such as sinusitis or tonsillitis? Or, do you seem to have a weak immune system? These can be early signs of mold illness.

Sick-building syndrome: Do you feel worse when you enter certain buildings, such as your home, office, or school? Do you feel better when you spend a few days away from these buildings?

Chemical sensitivity: Do you have symptoms — such as nausea, headache, or cough — when exposed to various chemicals? Examples include perfumes, detergents, cleaning products, tobacco smoke, printer ink, paints, varnishes, hair products, street dust, and exhaust fumes.

Odor sensitivity: Have you developed a hypersensitivity to smells, particularly mold? For example, you may smell mold on other people’s clothes or develop a keen ability to smell mold in buildings.

More serious symptoms which some studies are showing are linked to toxicity include cancer, seizures, strokes, liver and kidney disease.

I suggest also checking and cleaning your washing machine inside, check showers and remember mold grows within 24 hours in your fridge. As a rule I don’t eat left overs which have been standing in the fridge.

Candidiasis

Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by a yeast (a type of fungus) called Candida. Some species of Candida can cause infection in people; the most common is Candida albicans. Candida normally lives on the skin and inside the body, in places such as the mouth, throat, gut, and vagina, without causing any problems. Candida can cause infections if it grows out of control or if it enters deep into the body (for example, the eyes, bones, bloodstream or internal organs like the kidney, heart, or brain.) Candidemia, a bloodstream infection with Candida, is a common infection in hospitalized patients.

Symptoms include:

Oral thrush

Fatigue

Deficiencies of vitamin B6, essential fatty acids and magnesium

Recurring urinary or genital infections

Digestive issues

Sinus infections

Skin and nail infections

Joint, pelvic or lower back pain

Fever, chills, headache

If you have any of these symptoms, I strongly suggest doing a complete pathogen cleanse before resorting to long term chronic disease management with medications. I am not a medical practitioner and as such this is just my personal advice based on what I have experienced over the 17 years practicing as an energy medicine practitioner. Please consult your doctor if you are considering a pathogen cleanse and you have any concerns.

Ischemic stroke secondary to CNS fungal infections should be considered in patients with recurrent or progressive cryptogenic stroke, regardless of immune status and cerebrospinal fluid profile. CNS yeast and mold infections have slightly different stroke and laboratory characteristics and should have a distinct diagnostic method. Depending on clinical suspicion, a thorough diagnostic approach including spinal fluid analysis and biopsy should be considered.

The results so far are amazing. My headaches are gone. My leg pain is reduced to nearly no pain. My lower back pain is also reduced. I lost 6 kilograms after the first cleansing. I can eat things that I could not eat without getting heart burn before. I have not had to take a pain killer since I have started with this program. My anxiety levels are reduced, I can handle lots of pressure without a stiff neck. I feel brand new and full of energy. My vision improved in my one eye that specialists declared blind.

In the beginning when I started the programme it felt overwhelming, but with dedication and faith you can see the results within days. Just the fact that I now realise you don’t heal your body with pain pills , but rather by treating the root cause, really impress me and makes a difference in my life. For the first time my body and mind connect with earth through natural healing.
Gillian thank you so much for all your love and care. You really go the extra mile and really want to make a difference that I could feel and see.
I am excited and looking forward to my full 90 days of transformation!

Marionette

The results were, in a word, astounding! My stomach hasn’t felt this good in 2 years. No more indigestion, acid reflux, pain or tenderness in my stomach. Perfect digestion. And all my menopausal symptoms are completely gone! Also, the affirmations really helped me to come to terms with my situation.

Lisa

Having been on the programme to eliminate Epstein Barr, I lost 7kg’s, have more energy, my sleep has improved and I feel happier in myself. I know that I am not alone with these challenges and there are plenty of people worse off than me. I hope my journey can help others.

Sharon

After the second kinesiology healing session, I realised just how powerful the corrections for imbalances and releasing of stresses. After 5 sessions and 3 months later I have lost 15 kg, I have come down from 60mg of cortisone to 5mg alternate day, completely off my water pills. I am feeling alive a well and have a drive for life again. I can’t wait to get up in the morning and say hello to life every day. I am loving my healing journey, will continue with my process with Gillian.

Your body is The Messenger

Featured

In 2003 my entire life changed when a book found its way to me. It changed my life, literally. ‘You can heal your life’ by Louise Hay is still a book I turn to today for guidance and inspiration. I have gifted it to many clients and friends. If you have not read it, do yourself a favour and get a copy.

Because of this book I pursued Kinesiology 16 years ago. It is the one modality that powerfully combines Mind Body balance by connecting with the body as the messenger. The universe has a way of sending you what you need right on time when you need it.

I was at the time living in Johannesburg, a national sales manager for a few online and print brands with a staff compliment of around 15. I was financially responsible for a parent and dealing with quite a bit of stress and unresolved trauma from my upbringing.

During this same time, while vacationing in Knysna, I was also led to a kinesiologist called Jaqi Lee who was practising kinesiology in Knysna and I was blown away with the two sessions I experienced with her. I was suffering from debilitating back and neck pain and she was able to tune into my body and release stress around relationship issues between me and my mother. Needless to say, the pain went away. 😊
Below is just a small insert from Louis’s book “Heal your body”. May this information help you. Maybe you can relate to some of the information.

“I’ve learned that there are really just two mental patterns that contribute to dis-ease: fear and anger. Anger can show up as impatience, irritation, frustration, criticism, resentment, jealousy, or bitterness. These are all thoughts that poison the body. When we release this burden, all the organs in our body begin to function properly. Fear could be tension, anxiety, nervousness, worry, doubt, insecurity, feeling not good enough, or unworthiness. Do you relate to any of this stuff? We must learn to substitute faith for fear if we are to heal.
Faith in what? Faith in life. I believe that we live in a “Yes” Universe. No matter what we choose to believe or think, the Universe always says yes to us. If we think poverty, the Universe says yes to that. If we think prosperity, the Universe says yes to that. So, we want to think and believe that we have the right to be healthy, that health is natural to us. The Universe will support and say yes to this belief. Be a “Yes person and know that you live in a “Yes” world, being responded to by a “Yes” Universe.
If you find yourself battling with some imbalance, ask yourself: Is it one of the forms of fear, or is it one of the forms of anger? Are you willing to release those thoughts? Are you willing to replace those thoughts with positive affirmations?* Loving yourself will also contribute greatly to healing your body, for love heals.
So how do you love yourself? First, and most important: Cease all criticism of yourself and others. Accept yourself as you are. Praise yourself as much as you can. Criticism breaks down the inner spirit; praise builds it up. Look into a mirror often, and simply say: I LOVE YOU, I REALLY LOVE YOU. It may be difficult at first, but keep practicing, and soon you will mean and feel what you say. Love yourself as much as you can, and all of life will mirror this love back to you.” Louise Hay.

Some metaphysical ‘causes’ behind physical issues:

(Below are a few that I have worked with in my practice over the past 16 years)

Adrenal problems: Defeatism, No longer caring for self. Anxiety
Anxiety: Not trusting the flow and the process of life
Arthritis: Feeling unloved. Criticism, resentment
Asthma: Smother love. Inability to breath for one’s self. Getting stuck in childhood.
Back issues: Fear of money and lack of support
Bladder issues: Anxiety. Holding on to old ideas. Fear of letting go.
Breast issues: Refusal/fear to nourish self. Putting everyone else first.
Candida: Feeling very scattered. Lots of frustration and anger. Demanding and untrusting relationships.
Cholesterol: Clogging the channels of Joy. Fear of accepting Joy.
Colon: Holding on to the past. Fear of letting go.
Eczema: Breath taking antagonism. Mental eruptions.
Fatigue: Resistance. Boredom. Lack of love for what one does
Gall bladder: Bitterness. Hard thoughts. Condemning. Pride
Insomnia: Fear. Not trusting the process of life. Guilt.
Joints: Represents changes in direction in life and the ease of these movements.
Liver: Seat of anger and primitive emotions
Lymph issues: A warning that the mind needs to be recentred on the essentials of life. Love and Joy
Shingles: Waiting for the other shoe to drop. Fear. Tension.
Shoulders: Represent our ability to carry our experiences in life joyously. We make life a burden by our attitude.
Thyroid: Humiliation. “I never get to do what I want to do. When is it going to be my turn”?

I practise from the quaint little Art Centre at 4 Montagu Street, Knysna from Mondays to Saturdays if you would like assistance into tapping into your body and dealing with issues of disease or discomfort.

May you love yourself more and more each day.

Gillian

Addictions and trauma….what’s your pain?

Have you struggled with cravings or even addictions? Craving sugar, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, drugs, shopping, eating, gambling, people pleasing, extreme exercise, overworking, excessive social media activity….the specific addiction is not what I want to highlight but rather the mechanism.

As a practicing wellness practitioner for over 20 years and someone who aspires to actively live with conscious awareness, I am still learning the dynamics of why we suffer with addictions, what triggers this behaviour and how do we overcome these behaviours.

Dr Gabor Mate is one of my mentors with regards to addiction and trauma and he believes it all relates to childhood trauma and how we are triggered throughout life when our needs are not being met. Addiction is a response to human suffering…an attempt to avoid suffering, feel in control, avoid loneliness.

“We are addicted to being wanted.”

Dr Gabore mate

Trauma triggers also manifest as inflammation in our bodies that’s why its so vital to deal with trauma and stress with any health condition.

Kinesiology as a modality is so powerful and effective because in a session we don’t just talk through trauma, we actively, through muscle testing, release the trauma from the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual body.
We all can really benefit from less shame and guilt around the various issues we are dealing with because this does not aid healing. We can all benefit from more support and kindness from family, friends, and wellness practitioners.

Here’s a few pointers which I hope will help you:

  1. Stay in the present moment. Yesterday is past and you can do nothing about it. Every moment is a new opportunity to start over, make positive change, try again.
  2. Stop blaming, guilting, and shaming yourself when you find yourself relapsing. It drains you of energy and gets you stuck. We are all doing the best we can, with where we are at.
  3. Why the pain? Sit with the addictive behaviour and try identifying the emotions that trigger it. Where are you feeling helpless, abandoned, alone, unloved, fearful. If you can identify triggers you can choose to heal from them and rise above them when you are ready and able.
  4. What are you trying to tune out from? This is a stress adaptation that triggers addiction.
  5. Your body is the temple of your spirit/soul. The more awareness you bring to this, the more you accept that you are the temple, the wonderful, amazing vessel of your soul, the more reverence you will have for self, the more you can slowly start loving and accepting yourself as you are, the more you will aspire for self.
  6. You are not alone. You are deserving of unconditional love. If you need assistance dealing with trauma, with finding more self-love, connecting with your higher power within you and all the support around you then take brave steps to reach out and ask for help. Again, remember, you deserve it.
  7. Life is short and precious and a gift. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Appreciate every moment given to you.
  8. You can not find love, validation, bliss or meaning in other people or from other people. You must live for you.

What Actually Happens To Your Body During A Fast, Hour By Hour

At the beginning of each week I fast for 16 hours to give my digestive system a break. And every few months I practice 14 hour fasting intervals over a few days as a spring clean but I do include liquids.

I am currently reading a very interesting book on the benefits of fasting for healing and the concept of autophagy as healing is my area of interest.

However even though I have been practicing this for years and feeling the benefits, I wanted to understand what actually happens, step by step as one fasts .I found this article by Alexis Sheilds ND which explains it quite simply.

0 to 4 hours
The first four hours after you eat are known as the anabolic growth phase. Your body is using up the energy you just ate to power your current activity and for cellular and tissue growth.

Your pancreas produces the hormone insulin. This allows your body to use up the glucose that was released into your bloodstream after your meal and to store any excess energy in your cells for later use.

4 to 16 hours
The second phase kicks off after four hours and lasts up until about 16 hours from your last meal. This is the “catabolic,” or breakdown, phase, when all those extra nutrients start being released from storage to be used for energy.

Once the energy stored in your cells runs out, your body starts to rely instead on stored fat. The process of releasing fat and burning it up for energy releases chemicals known as ketone bodies for energy, which usually happens around the 16-hour mark.

The rate at which you reach this stage really depends on what you ate for the last couple of meals before your fast. If you ate a lot of carbs and starch, it will take a bit longer than if you ate mostly fats and protein.

One of the most powerful features of fasting, called autophagy, also kicks off during this phase.

Autophagy is triggered by a reduction in a growth regulator called MTOR, and this process is basically a spring cleaning for your cells. It gets rid of any dead or damaged cellular material, which can otherwise contribute to aging, cancer, and chronic disease.

16 to 24 hours
Once you pass the 16-hour mark, glucose in the cells and glycogen in the liver and muscles begin to dwindle rapidly, which causes you to burn stored fat in order to keep up with your body’s need for energy.

Your energy demands at this stage likely haven’t changed much—you’re still waking up, working, walking, interacting with people, maybe exercising—so the amount of energy that’s needed can be quite significant.

The production of another chemical, AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), is also triggered at this point. This really increases the amount of autophagy happening all around your body.

24 to 72 hours
Again, it’s important to work with a physician if you plan to do a prolonged fast.

Once you pass 24 hours of fasting, your body will enter into a state called ketosis, where you’re reliant on burning your fat stores for energy. As fat cells are broken down for energy, ketone bodies are created and released into the bloodstream.

Ketone bodies act as fuel for the brain when glucose is scarce. Glucose is our brain’s primary source of fuel, but ketone bodies provide the brain with additional benefits.

Burning ketones can lead to a major uptick in your cognitive performance, mental clarity, and general sense of energy and well-being as you enter into a multiday fast.

Your brain also gets a boost around the 24-hour mark from an increase in production of brain-derived nootropic factor (BDNF).

BDNF supports the growth of brain neurons. Not only is it correlated with improvements in long-term memory, coordination, and learning, but it’s also thought to be key in reducing the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease in later life.

72+ hours
Once you’ve been fasting for three days or more, your body enters a deep state of ketosis. All the previous benefits: Autophagy, the uptick in the production of beneficial chemicals and hormones, fat loss, and mental clarity continue to increase. That said, your thyroid hormones also start to get affected, as your body thinks it’s starving.

Research suggests longer fasts can help your body become more resilient to stress and exposure to toxins and that certain hormones produced at this stage can have beneficial anti-cancer and anti-aging effects. That said, people with a history of eating disorders should avoid prolonged fasts, and it’s always a good idea to seek medical supervision when fasting.

Dr. Naiman, ‘Diet Doctor’ suggests that “the sweet spot for intermittent fasting” occurs between 18 and 24 hours of fasting since this is the time period that sees the greatest drop in insulin and increase in lipolysis — the breakdown of fat.

Give intermittent fasting a try and please let me know what you experience.

*If you have medical conditions please consult with your doctor before you attempt a fast.

Your gut is like a river…it needs to flow to be healthy

How much the gut is able to move plays a significant role on the quantity and balance of healthy bacteria within the gut.

Dr. Erica Peirson says gastrointestinal motility represents one of the major control systems of gut microflora by moving bacteria and yeast out of the body at a rate that is balanced with their rate of reproduction.

Gastrointestinal dysbiosis cannot be addressed if gut motility is not optimized. Treating dysbiosis with antimicrobials (herbal or pharmaceutical), probiotics and diet without addressing gut motility will only result in continued ill-health, frustration and money lost on supplements and treatment that don’t result in long term effects.

Low muscle tone in the intestines leads to slow gut motility. When gut motility is slow, bacteria and yeast can’t be cleared properly and gets backed up in the small intestines. This leads to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and/or yeast overgrowth.
Because the gastronintestinal tract is a muscular system it is heavily dependent on a healthy nervous system.
Healthy vagus nerve function is needed for healthy gut function and motility. As with any nerve, its function can be impaired by a deficiency in the nutrients needed to make ACh because ACh is the main neurotransmitter used by the vagus nerve. Briefly, these nutrients are:
vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B7, and choline.
Muscles require energy in order to contract in the form of ATP (adenosine triphospate). ATP is generated by mitochondria. It naturally follows that mitochondrial dysfunction will lead to low muscle tone and slow gut motility.

Gastrointestinal symptoms of mitochondrial dysfunction include:

poor appetite, gastroesophageal sphincter dysfunction, constipation, dysphagia, vomiting, gastroparesis, GI pseudo-obstruction, diarrhea, or pancreatitis and hepatopathy.

Nutrients that support mitochondrial function and therefore support gut motility include:
Carnitine, CoQ10, B Vitamins, Ribose, T3/T2 hormone, Creatine.

Delayed gut motility is a hallmark of hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is marked by an accumulation of glycosaminoglycans, like hyaluronic acid, within soft tissue of the body creating edema and swelling. This substance is essential for healthy joints as it helps to lubricate and cushion them. It becomes a problem when it builds up in areas beyond healthy levels. In hypothyroidism it mostly builds up under the skin and in muscle, including the muscles of the gut. The deposition of this substance within muscles hinders it’s ability to contract properly. Many people with hypothyroidism experience diffuse skeletal muscle pain due to this aspect of their hypothyroidism. In adults, this is not only seen as symptoms of muscle pain it can also be seen visibly as edema under the skin particularly in the lower extremities and the face.

The lumen of the gut can be compared to a river. “A river’s flow is its heartbeat. Because we have dammed so many rivers and lakes, our freshwater ecosystems are losing species and habitats faster than any other type of ecosystem.” (Internationalrivers.org) If the river is slowed and becomes stagnant, algae and microbes will grow at a rate that is faster than the river moves them along. This will create an imbalance in the ecosystem of that river that chokes out other life, ultimately creating an unhealthy river.

Many people suffer from dysbiosis at some stage in their life because of stress, lifestyle choices, toxins in food and water and incorrect diet. And as this article suggests, its not just a matter of taking probiotics or supplements.

With a BioResonance Health Scan, we can check various factors like stress, toxins, sensitivities, inflammation, microbiome etc to get a clearer view of what may be causing symptoms of imbalance. And with Metatherapy we can immediately assist the body to shift towards homeostasis. By adding Rife therapy we can directly start addressing pathogens, inflammation and pain and improve immunity. So when we combine with cleanses and support you can come back into balance, heal from symptoms and have more energy.
And because of “Quantum Entanglement” we are able to work remotely with people anywhere in the world by using hair or nail samples or even a clear photograph! Sounds to good to be true? Well read some of the testimonials or better yet, give it a try. What have you got to lose? More importantly, what do you stand to gain.

A compromised liver could be the reason for your symptoms

Do you struggle with any of the following:

  • Indigestion and constipation
  • Fatigue
  • Night sweats
  • Skin sagging and discoloration
  • Joint and back pain
  • Low libido
  • Poor immunity
  • Muscle loss
  • Weight gain around the tummy

You could have a tired, fatty liver. You see, your liver filters toxins from your blood. It also supports healthy hormone levels, promotes healthy blood sugar, and helps balance your cholesterol.

Your liver also converts glucose into energy your body can use, stores essential nutrients, like vitamins A, B, D, and K, and produces a quart of bile daily that supports healthy digestion, metabolism, and weight maintenance.

Your liver is responsible for over 500 essential functions.

So, as you can see, one of the best ways to boost your health is to show your liver some love.

Your liver is designed to heal and regenerate but the more we are exposed to heavy metals, pesticides, chemicals, medications and pollution the more it is compromised.

That’s when you start feeling fatigued because your liver struggles to convert glucose to energy.

You may start gaining weight around your middle, or seeing more cellulite, because your liver gets clogged with fat.

You may feel moody, emotional, or “off” because your liver isn’t supporting optimal hormone balance.

What can you do to support your liver?

To find out if a sluggish liver is causing some of your symptoms, you could have a full health scan which is non-intrusive, cost effective and will give you an overview of parasites, toxins, sensitivities, and organ health which is a good place to start.

You could perform a 15 day liver detox consisting of a herbal tea which you drink three times a day for 14 days and a fruit juice flush on the 15th day.

You could perform a liver detox by following a diet free of dairy, wheat, sugar and meat and take a liver detox tincture twice a day for 2 weeks.

If you really want to do a thorough cleanse you can do a gallbladder/liver flush which will flush out toxins, parasites and gall stones. This is one of the steps I guide you through if you elect to take part in my Radical Transformation in 90 days programme. It is advisable to do this after cleaning out parasites and toxins and is best done with guidance as you may need to do a colon cleanse first.

Here is the protocol I recommend for my clients.

“After doing this detox I was able to smell again and come off most of my chronic asthma medication,” Ingrid.

“I feel brand new and full of energy.” Marionette

After 20 days of really clean eating and cleaning up my system I had dropped 10kg!” Margaret

Or you can try a coffee enema. Most pharmacies provide these enema kits just make sure you use organic coffee. I can guide you with the process and the benefits are great.

Bear in mind that you are more than flesh alone. Your liver is the organ where we store emotions like resentment and anger. If you are dealing with emotional issues and beliefs that could be giving you a toxic liver, you owe it to yourself to let go of these emotions and beliefs as they are robbing you of health and happiness.

Check in with yourself and see what beliefs are driving you. What are the persistent thoughts that take up space in your mind? Take control of your thoughts-don’t let them control you. If you need assistance with letting go of negative emotions and beliefs, kinesiology is a wonderful therapy as it taps into your body to find and correct stressors so that you can live from a place of happiness and love.
