I am fascinated with the ancient wellness practices, one being Ayurveda. This thirst for knowledge led me to purchasing a Kansa wand—an ancient skincare tool that predates the jade roller and gua sha. I started incorporating this 5000-year-old facial technique into my skincare routine because as much as I love and accept myself at every age, including 55, I was feeling a bit haggard. Many clients and friends have commented on my improved skin and so, as I do with all new things I learn, I have incorporated this funky tool into my lymph drainage massages.
Because of the metal’s alkaline properties, touching it to your skin will help balance your skin’s pH. Massaging the skin with the Kansa wand helps to remove built-up toxins in the lymph nodes.
Kansa metal is produced at temperatures high enough to forge copper and aluminium. It is also called the “bell metal” because bells—and Tibetan gongs—are made out of this same material. It’s believed that over 5000 years ago people in India ate their meals on a Kansa plates to help make digestion easier and reduce the acid content in the food. They drank their water from Kansa cups because it was almost like a water filtration system—it would remove the acid content from the water.
When you book for a lymph drainage massage with me you will get to experience this little magic wand.
